Review
As you know, files can be corrupted during Internet transfers as a result of hardware failure, program errors or malicious tampering. In order to get rid of such problems you need a tool that can validate your files and let you know what files have been changed or deleted. Camptech’s Validator is the tool you need.
Validator enables you to verify the authenticity of your files. This program lets you create your own CRC (or signature) for a file or group of files and save it as an .SFV (Simple File Verifier) file. You can later validate files by opening the SFV file which contains the original CRC.
In order to validate the files, you just need to place the .SFV file in the same folder as the files it was created for. When you open the SFV file, this program compares the original CRC with the new CRC and lists modified or missing files. If you are sharing your files with someone, then you can send the SFV file along with the files and the recipient can use the same SFV file to verify whether the files have been modified during transmission or not.
This simple yet very useful Windows utility is absolutely free. |

- Requires the Visual Basic Runtime Library.
- It does not check subfolders while creating CRC.
